a new reason for a chase!

Lately grandma has been working very hard at knitting socks for Christmas. We've been chasing yarn balls all over still. The last couple days has been filled with Tag- you're it by C.C. and 'Nae. Today C.C. and mommy played tag acuz C.C. got a rice crispy stuck up her nose. She was licking mommy's bowl and somehow 1/2 a crispy got lodged in her nostral. She wouldn't let mommy get it out of there and was sneezing but it wouldn't budge. Grandpa caught me and mommy picked my nose. Oddly - no one thinks I have learned a lesson from this. The funny thing is that when we were born, Mommy wanted 3 kitties to name Snap, Crackle, and Pop. When C.C. came out we needed a 4th name and Count Chocula was the winner. As we grew personallities, I was the only one that got to keep a cereal name.

HI to the other kitties!!!

Hi everybody!!! We've been busy. Mommy broke out the good kitty crack and C.C. found a ball of grandma's yarn. It's not a ball anymore. =:: giggles::= While we were napping from all the fun, mommy rolled it back up for us to do it again! Again and again. All 4 of us run after it and it's in no less than 3 rooms of the house. We're good like that! So, that's what we've been up to. That and sleeping on the chair with the the winter coats in it. Yep, it's a good life. Hope you're all happy and healthy and well fed too!!!

Another great weigh in for 'Nae!

We went for our monthly check up and 'Nae is 6.9 pounds!!! That's a whole nother 'Nae from when we started. WOW!!! She's doing well! Speaking of doing well, C.C.'s kitty diaper rash is all cleared up! We're still using diaper wipes on her to maintain a clean tushy but everything looks to be on the up and up @ our house. Izzy got to go out and have an "Indian Summer" day in the leaves with grandma and all is peachy keen!
Hope all is well with the other kitties in the blogworld!

We're 5 today!!!

It's our birthday! We're another year older and undoubtedly cuter. It's been another adventurous year for us chasing bugs, and learning to bowl. Grandma gave us our present early. She got us a neat blue fish on a string that suctions to the wall. We took no time figuring out how to pull it down and drag it to her to play with us. Mommy got us turkey! We each got a can of soft food too. 'Nae got a special kind for her to eat, but since it's a big can and she's still not a real big kitty, I might help her acuz I'm a good sister like that. All of our presents came in boxes so we're having a good time celebrating a little early. Grandpa gave us a roll of paper towels to play with in the box so all is GREAT!!! We'll have confetti all over the house by morning.

Nae's a big girl now!!!

It finally happened..... 'NAE WEIGHS 6.2 POUNDS!!! So, now we have to figure out where to send our friends at Dr. Vogel's office for lunch. Any suggestions as to what type of food is loved by many? C.C. went to the appointment too because she had a red butt. Dr. Vogel said it's basically kitty diaper rash. Urine burn from the acid being absorbed into her long thick butt hair. So, now her jammies have a drop seat look to them. hehehe. We're using desatin and baby wipes to get everything cleared up. They really are little furry toddlers. Things are coming along well and the girls are almost 5 years old. Wow, my little blessings are growing so fast. I can't believe 5 years ago I was squishing Izzy's tummy just waiting to meet my fur daughters. Time goes so fast. I've been given the most precious gifts. Little fuzzy bundles of unconditional love.

Nae's Day

Today after I helped myself to breakfast, I took a great nap. See my cheeks? Both sets look full. Mommy just stared at me while I napped. She got lost in my little heart shaped nose and peacful purrs. She petted me and fell asleep herself. I wonder, is loving a kitty the most relaxing thing in the world or what?!?! She should toss the thunderstorm cd she sleeps to and get a purr soundtrack! just sayin'. That's all. It was just a good day.

Great News!!!

Friday 'Nae had her 1 month check up. She broke 5 pounds!!! 5.3 pounds to be exact! Mommy knew inside that it was going to be big, so we stopped @ the store and got a little cake and had the bakery people write "yay 'Nae" on it. We got mixed fruit and plates and forks and headed for the vet. We got there and I hopped up on the scale and mommy and the vet tech both woo-hooed me!!! Lindsay - the vet tech went to get the others and Dr. Vogel so they could all bask in the cuteness of what is now my slightly pudgy tummy. Who knew 5 pounds would be so exciting, let alone "pudgy"? My ribs are hiding under my fluff and my tummy is starting to round out!!! It's a milestone! I weigh in again next month & continue B-12 shots. My prednisone is 1/2 a pill daily now. We're all so thankful to share this wonderful news with you. I can't wait to see how they react if I ever get to be a really big girl! Mommy said if I hit 6 pounds, she's taking the vet staff out for lunch! They've all been so good to us. My family loves them very much. I love them too.

New game at our house!!!

Mommy bought a kids bowling set really cheap... Can you see where this is going? Mommy and Grandpa set up the pins in the living room and use the lazer pointer to shine on the pins. It's hard to get only 1 kitty to "bowl" at a time but C.C. is very good at making a strike!!! 'Nae has to work at it a little acuz she's kinda small. It's very very fun!!! If mommy didn't laugh so hard, she could maybe hold a camera. We'll try to remind her next time we're playing Kitty Bowl!

Ka-bob's are magic!!!

'Nae weighed in @ 4.7 lbs on friday!!! No set back from her experiment w/ banana bread and the ka-bobs added the ounces!!! We're now slowing down the b-12 shot to everyother week and continuing the prednisone. Things are looking great!!! Grandma fired up the grill for grandpa's birthday, so everybody had grilled fish! Needless to say there was a little restlessness on the patio while we were waiting. It was a great day to celebrate and stuff the kitties!!!

Great holiday weekend!!!

We had our check up. C.C. is down to 15 1/2 pounds, Izzy is down to 9 pounds. Shadow is up to 21 and last but not least - 'Nae holding strong @ 4 1/2 pounds. Dr. Vogel and her helpers laugh at the difference between 'Nae and her sisters. Izzy is the mother to 2 big babies and a pip squeek. Grandma got the grill going and we're nommin' on ka-bobs ~ chicken and pork. There are left overs so we'll be happy for a few days. Mommy brought home some banana bread and 'Nae ate through the plastic bag to get into it. She's kinda in trouble for that. Mommy tried to put her in the corner. Yep - a nanosecond time out. Hopefully she didn't get enough in her few tiny bites to cause a back slide. Sunday it thundered so we all hung out in Mommy's bed and watched movies. C.C. spent the night in grandma and grandpa's bed acuz she is scared of thunder. 'Nae yelled at it but it just wouldn't listen to her. So, that was our weekend. Hope yours was fun and filling too!!!

Grandpa's whipped. hehe

Today, Grandpa was givin' 'Nae some turkey. He was trying to rip it into little pieces but 'Nae got too excited to wait and she bit him. Grandpa put it in the chopper to hurry. Then 'Nae got the whole piece!!! I got up on my chair so I could get some too. That's why Grandpa's rock!!! (Grandma rock's too) We're lucky kitties.

WOOHOO!!!! 'Nae keeps growing!

With our visit to the vet on Friday, 'Nae is a whopping 4 & 1/2 pounds. She is starting to grow a little tummy again and is noticably heavier. Not a lot, but noticable. We're continuing the B-12 shots and tuna fish with the prednisone pill. 'Nae is such a little trooper. I've been giving the shot and she is so patient with me. We're continuing the celebration daily. Funny how something so small can steal your heart so fast and bring so much joy to everyday life! Next week EVERYBODY goes... 3 have "Well Baby" check ups and everybody gets yearly shots. (Mommy only has to give 'Nae's B-12 shot.)

Good news for 'Nae!!!

We went to the vet yesterday for our 2nd B-12 shot and NAE IS OVER 4 POUNDS!!! Weighing in at a whopping 4.16, it looks like we're heading in the right direction! OK, we know she's still a very small kitty, but 4 pounds is a big deal for us. We just wanted to share the great news with all of you who take the time to purr for our family. Thank you all so much!

Jen, 'Nae & C.C.

on a different note: Question from Izzy (the momma cat): Why is it we kitties don't complain when humans take our temp in the worst possible location but humans complain when kittes put our tales in your mouths to check yours? Just wunderin'.

update on 'Nae

We're going to be trying vitamin B-12 shots and she is eating LOTS of tuna (packed in water). Since it's not something she has had before we felt it was safe to try. She's still very snuggly and playfull. It's hard to keep her out of the kitchen now. She actually hops into the fridge to be closer to her tuna fish. She's a goofy one - that girl!!! (like mother like daughter) Thank you all for your suggestions and purrs. We're so thankful for the support of the cb!

Small kitty needs your help!

Renae is losing weight again. She is now under 4 pounds (4 & 1/2 yrs old) and we're very worried about her. She has been on Science Diet ZD for food allergies for about a year and is now on Prednisone to see if part of the problem may be inflamed intestine (no signs showing up in tests run). We're running out of things to check for. She went through this about a year ago and her Thyroid and other usual blood tests came back good. She's had an ultrasound and that didn't show anything unusual. She is an indoor kitty and has had worm meds as a precaution but no signs of parasites were found. We're begging for ideas as to what to look at next for helping her. While our vet is fabulous, she too is getting frustrated not knowing how to help my little one. She has been searching the internet and calling other vets and the U of M to get suggestions. We all know the more minds - the better. Please, please post anything that may be useful for me to discuss with Dr. Vogel. We're willing to try anything to help 'Nae get a little bigger again. We'd love for her to be between 5 and 6 pounds again. Anything more is just a miracle past a blessing.

Thank you all in advance!

Special delivery in the mail!

Everyday we sit in the big window and wait for the mail man. We always say hi to him and he says hi back. Today when mommy got the mail there was a little green sparkle ball and a green mousie in there for us!!! The mail man left us mail too! We are loving the new toys.

Uncle Winston went to the bridge.

Unlce Winston went to the bridge early this morning.
As sad as we all are, we couldn't have asked for a
better send off. He was sent off with all of us around and wrapped in grandma's blanket in grandpa's arms. He was cuddled right up until the end. We are feeling so blessed to have these 10 wonderful years end with such a send off of love.

sniffles and tears, C.C. & 'Nae & family.

update on uncle Winston

He's a tough guy!!! He's hanging in there. The cancer has spread up into his face with 1 tumor by his eye and another on his cheek. He's on pain killers twice a day and has switched to wet food. We're doing our best to snuggle him and kiss him a LOT! He's still moving around pretty well and doesn't seem to be uncomfortable. Please keep him in your purrs.
Thanks,
C.C. & 'Nae

PS: We're good. We found a new game to play. We push our toys under the fridge and go get mommy. She gets our toy and we start the game again. After a few rounds, Mommy takes the toy and us into the living room and closes the door to the kitchen. Then we play the game w/ the couch. After the eleventyfifth time mommy gets our toy and we push it back under, she says "tough" and throws us a new toy to play with. We then go get grandpa and grandma to get the first toy and they tell mommy she's being mean by not playing with us. We laugh. We Win!!!

bad news for Uncle Winston

Mommy took Uncle Winston the vet on Friday because the area where he used to have a leg was all lumpy. The vet ran some tests and said the cancer is back. It's sarcoma again and within 3 days has spread to around his chest from his back. The vet said about 6 months but it's spreading so fast we don't think it will be that long before he goes to the rainbow bridge. Please purr for him that he can continue to walk and that his pain medicine works to keep him comfortable. Thanks.

What's the difference???

Q: What is the difference between a 1 year old kitty & a 1 year old human?
A: Not much. The kitty may be a little more potty trained than a human but everything else is
the same.

Q: What is the differnce between a 2 year old kitty & a 2 year old human?
A: ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!!!

Q: What is the differnce between a 3 year old kitty & a 3 year old human?
A: A kitty won't put a PB&J sandwich in a vcr. Other than that, not much.

Q: What is the difference between a 4 year kitty & a 4 year old human?
A: A human understands what "no no" means and you can put them in time out.

Q: At what point does the kitty stop being a toddler? At what point does the Mommy understand they are curtain climbers for life? At what point does Mommy stop loving the similarities - the need for snuggles, the little soft touch on the cheek, the kisses, the tiny sneezes, the little toys, the curiosity, and the belief that Mommy is the greatest thing in the world?
A: NEVER!!!!

Happy New Year to all!!!

As we sit by the Charlie Brown Christmas tree with the unbreakable ornament on it and look back on this year, we are blessed with all the purrs and prayers from our friends in the CB. This year has been another big year for us. Destroying toilet paper, kleenex and flinging food has only been part of it. We are happy to say that we are well and Uncle Winston has all of his fur back after having his leg removed due to cancer. We have gotten many chances to help other kitties and have learned lots of clean jokes from Jeter to tell our other friends. We have cried with you and laughed with you and been part of many great journies together! Thank you to all our friends in the CB and may 2010 bring stinky goodness and crunchy treats by the truck load!

lotsaluv~ C.C. & 'Nae
